Living amid open and fast-paced information flows, Generation Z is increasingly exposed to narratives that are not always aligned with traditional Islamic values, resulting in spiritual disorientation and unstable religious identity. This study aims to examine how the interpretation of the Qur'an, particularly through a thematic (mawḍū‘ī) approach, by identifying Qur’anic verses related to spiritual resilience, classifying them into subthemes (patience, trust, consistency), and anlyzing their relevance to Generation Z identify in digital era. This research adopts a qualitative method based on library research, employing thematic interpretation of selected Qur'anic verses related to psychological and spiritual endurance. Thus, the Qur'an serves not only as a normative text, but also as a source of spiritual strength that offers solutions to the crisis of religious identity among Generation Z. This study contributes theoretically to the development of a contextual thematic exegesis approach, and practically to the reinforcement of Qur’an based religious education in the digital era.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Studi Qur'an dan Tafsir https://www.journal.ua.ac.id/index.php/jsqt/article/view/633 VALIDITAS RIWAYAT TAFSIR ABDULLAH IBN ABBAS PADA KITAB TAFSIR AL-QUR’ĀN AL-‘ADHĪM KARYA IBN KATSIR 2025-05-21T15:02:50+00:00 Lutfiya Nurmayanti lutfiyanurmayanti27@gmail.com Abdul Kholid a.kholid@uinsa.ac.id
In the tradition of classical exegesis, riwayat (narrations) hold a significant role in Qur'anic interpretation, providing profound explanations of the meanings contained within it. Narrations from the era of the Companions, in particular, are considered close to the truth, as they lived during the time of the Qur'an’s revelation. However, although narrations are deemed important, not all can be accepted uncritically; a thorough analysis is required to assess their authenticity. This study aims to examine the validity of the narrations attributed to Abdullah Ibn Abbas in the Tafsir Al-Qur’ān Al-‘Adhīm by Ibn Kathir. The research employs a descriptive-analytical method, analyzing the narrations found in Ibn Kathir's exegesis through nine transmission chains from Ibn Abbas, ranging from the most authentic to the weak ones. The findings reveal that Ibn Kathir was selective in including authentic narrations from Ibn Abbas, yet some weak narrations were still identified. These results highlight the necessity of exercising caution when using narrations as sources of exegesis, even those attributed to Ibn Abbas.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Studi Qur'an dan Tafsir https://www.journal.ua.ac.id/index.php/jsqt/article/view/661 MENJELAJAHI RETORIKA TAFSIR QS. Hafiz Mauluddin Hazmi m.hafiz031.m.h@gmail.com
In the era of Society 5.0, the phenomenon of brain rot arises as a result of excessive consumption of shallow content on social media, hindering deep thinking and negatively affecting mental health. Surah Al-‘Ashr offers important insights into understanding this phenomenon through Fazlur Rahman’s theory of double movement, which analyzes the Qur'an in two contexts: micro (the reasons for the revelation) and macro (the socio-historical conditions). This study aims to apply this theory in addressing brain rot in the contemporary age. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research method. The theory of double movement is applied to analyze Surah Al-‘Ashr in response to modern challenges, such as brain rot, by integrating traditional and Western thought and providing a critical perspective on global issues. The findings reveal that the first movement encourages us to reflect on how the habit of consuming unproductive content wastes valuable time and harms intellectual capabilities. This phenomenon is similar to the habits of the Arab society during the time of 'Ashr, which often got caught in useless conversations that led to conflict. The second movement in Surah Al-‘Ashr emphasizes the importance of using time wisely, a universal principle that should be applied in daily life. The third verse teaches us to fill our time with beneficial activities, such as having faith, doing good deeds, and advising one another in truth and patience. In the digital context, addiction to shallow content can hinder intellectual development, much like harmful habits from the past. Surah Al-‘Ashr reminds us to use time wisely, focus on activities that enrich intellectual growth, and maintain emotional balance.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Studi Qur'an dan Tafsir https://www.journal.ua.ac.id/index.php/jsqt/article/view/679 LARANGAN MENCAMPURADUKKAN AGAMA DENGAN POLITIK DALAM PEMILU: Telaah QS. Al-Baqarah Ayat 41 2025-06-10T11:23:17+00:00 Naila Khafwa Nur nailakhafwanur@mhs.uingusdur.ac.id
This study examines the prohibition of mixing religion with politics in the context of elections, based on QS. Al-Baqarah verse 41. The research is motivated by the phenomenon of using religion as a political tool, which can undermine the values of faith and justice in the democratic process. The aim of this study is to analyze the meaning of the verse and its implications for the separation between religion and politics during elections. This research employs a literature review method using both classical and contemporary Qur’anic interpretations. The findings indicate that the verse warns believers not to trade religious principles for worldly gains such as political power, highlighting the importance of preserving the purity of religion and political integrity. In conclusion, applying the principle of separating religion from politics in elections can help uphold justice and moral integrity in Indonesia’s democratic system.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Studi Qur'an dan Tafsir https://www.journal.ua.ac.id/index.php/jsqt/article/view/671 TEORI MAKROEKONOMI ISLAM BERKEADILAN: Prinsip Anti Riba dalam QS. Al-Baqarah 278-279 Sebagai Fondasi Sistem Ekonomi Syariah 2025-06-07T14:47:31+00:00 Achmad Fikri Saefullah achmad.fikri.saefullah@mhs.uingusdur.ac.id
Islamic Macroeconomics aims to realize an economic system that is just, sustainable, and in accordance with sharia principles. One of its main foundations is the prohibition of usury as emphasized in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 278–279, which not only strictly prohibits the practice of usury but also warns of the spiritual and social consequences for violators. This paper uses a normative and analytical approach by examining sharia sources and Islamic economic literature to examine how anti-usury principles can form a theoretical framework for Islamic macroeconomics that is different from the conventional capitalist system. This article refers to several sources such as books and journals that discuss usury, interest, and just sharia economics. Beside that, additional references was obtained through interviews with economics students who were considered competent in usury matters. The focus of the study includes the influence of the prohibition of usury on economic stability, wealth distribution, and economic justice. In addition, this paper highlights the role of sharia instruments such as zakat, alms, and real sector investment as fair and inclusive alternatives. The results of the analysis show that the application of the anti-riba principle has the potential to create a more humane economic system and is oriented towards collective welfare. Thus, the verses of the Qur'an not only have spiritual value, but can also be a normative basis in building a fair and applicable macroeconomic theory.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Studi Qur'an dan Tafsir
